POSTcard No. 60: Third Week of June 2025
Weekly update: new crafts, new music and musicals, and new needlepoint!
Welcome to another weekly P.O.S.T.card from SF! We are chronicling what we are currently Planning (for either Postcard Row or our lives in general), what we are Ordering or Opening/unboxing, what we are Stitching, and what we are Thinking about or obsessing about.
Planning…
Isabella:
My next hobby: beading! I mean beading necklaces— I still haven’t been confident enough to try actual needlepoint beading yet. My TikTok feed has been inundated with necklaces made from glass beads so of course I ventured over to Michael’s for some supplies. They look simple to make, and I have experience with friendship bracelets and charm bracelets (lol) but let’s see if I actually make them any time soon! I was also pleasantly surprised by the bead choices at Michael’s, although I did end up spending probably the same amount of money I would have on one necklace…
Bridget:
It’s now my turn for a weekend in NYC! We are headed upstate for the next week but are doing the weekend in the city to see friends and catch some shows! We debated so many different shows and finally landed on seeing Sarah Snook in Dorian Gray because it’s the last weekend! I’m so excited!!
Postcard Row: San Franciscans love to stitch in the sun when the fog is actually burned off. We will be in Alamo Square park on Sunday July 20, and also are planning a Fleet Week stitching event in October!
Ordering/Opening…
Isabella:
If you know me in real life, you know my favorite “pants” are my fake jean sweatpants (the miramar) from rag & bone. They recently came out with a flared version and a shorts version and I ordered both because they actually went on sale!
Bridget:
I came across this air dry kit from the Crown Affair (I think in Substack?) and had to try it out. I’m a sucker for anything that makes me think I can be an air dry girly and then I end up with a big puff ball on my head sooooo…..we’ll see how this goes!?
Stitching…
Isabella:
I have written about Love Island probably in every post I’ve written since it’s started, so it’s fitting that I am writing about it once again. I painted this Casa Amor chart JUST IN TIME for Casa to start, and I’ve already finished and framed it now that they are heading back to the villa! You can chart your own!
Bridget:
After my flask I wanted something super small, so I stitched these two cuties from Meg Francez on my flight to NY! They just felt so perfect for this time of year!
Thinking about…
Isabella:
Specialty coffee drinks- and I don’t mean any old frappuccino or vanilla latte. More and more places seem to be creating cocktail-like concoctions that involve coffee instead of alcohol. For example, I had some sort of blackberry espresso tonic at a coffee shop in Santa Cruz that I’m still thinking about to this day. Philz has a blueberry breeze coffee which is cold brew, blueberry-infused oat milk & brown sugar. I’ve been getting it as my little treat almost every afternoon, it’s so good!!
Bridget:
The new Haim album! It somehow feels like a different vibe but very them - it’s like slower but a bit more rock!? I’m really liking it - especially kicking off with Gone with the George Michael Freedom sample and the drums and guitar in that song! Chef’s kiss!
Until next week! Do you want to join in on the POSTcards? Comment below with any of your answers this week for any of the POST letters. As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions and let us know what else you might want to see on this Substack.
xoxo,
Bridget & Isabella
I would love to see a Philz canvas!
Haim album is excellent!! They keep delivering!
