August Needlepoint Favorites

A quick recap of our favorite projects, stitches, and needlepoint accessories of the month!

Happy Labor Day! An update on the prompts from our TikTok friend Stitch with Jamie’s monthly favorites video. Since our answers may be the same from month to month, we may amend the categories. Let us know if there is anything specific you want to see! See below for the favorite categories:

Project of the month

Isabella: I finally finished my wedding logo canvas that Bridget designed for me before we even started Postcard Row!

Bridget: I finished my Brat canvas with thread that was so neon it practically glowed in the dark!

Stitch

Isabella: I didn’t try any new stitches this month, but Ellen (@smellen) on TikTok stitched our Brat canvas in Bargello Heart stitch and I really want to try it on something.

Bridget: I tried criss cross Hungarian (another @smellen reco! 🤍) and loved how it turned out!! Very excited to now have that in my repertoire!

General accessory

Isabella: Our new merch sweatshirts!

Bridget: +1 to Isabella - there is nothing better than a cozy sweatshirt, and I’m loving how ours turned out!

Storage accessory

Isabella: I’m taking recommendations on how to store needlepoint ornaments, please.

Bridget: I have yet to buy it but I’ve seen a few cute ort tins lately, so now I want to get one!

Needlepoint Resource

Isabella: I reactivated my Facebook page just to see what was going on in the Grandmillennial Needlepoint world, but it scares me and fills me with anxiety every time I look at the page. Reddit, on the other hand, seems to be a more welcoming and calmer place.

Bridget: I ended up on the Unwind Studio site after looking up some good background stitches and they have an entire stitch library really great pictures!

Needlepoint designer

Isabella: I am still obsessed with Froopy, and I ordered yet another canvas from her line this month

Bridget: Coco Frank!

Fiber

Isabella: FyreWerks in FT25, also known in my mind as “sparkly tutti frutti”

Bridget: Capri 18, although it was kind of slippery..?

Entertainment while stitching

Isabella: I was absolutely buzzin to watch the entirety of the most recent season of Love Island USA this month. I really did my big one with that.

Bridget: The first part of Emily in Paris! Although it was hard since they had more French and therefore more subtitles!

Wishlist canvas

Isabella: It’s actually embarrassing that I don’t have any wishlist canvases because I just buy them all immediately…

Bridget: I’m intimidated by the idea of doing a stocking and also worry about doing one and then it going out of style, but I reallyyyy like and keeping thinking about the Coco Frank nutcracker one!

Next thing to stitch from your stash

Isabella: If we aren’t counting all the projects I have half-started, probably my Krissy Mast pink poodle at the beach canvas that I still need to get threads for!

Bridget: I made something for a future drop that I need to get threads for but can’t wait to stitch & see how it turns out!!

Favorite needlepoint tiktoker

Isabella: Ellen, forever! She just posted a video of her stash and I could watch it 500 times just to mentally clock all of the canvases she has. I may or may not have even bought one from her…

Bridget: +1 on Ellen!! I got to meet her when Isabella and I went live on TikTok (dying that I even just wrote that sentence 🙈), and it was like meeting a needlepoint celebrity!
